From our chiropractor/writer friend, Dr. Leah Leeder in Jerusalem: I am happy to report that I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Raphaela, on 10/2/09! Our warmest wishes and congratulations, Leah!

Have you heard about the new, zero cost, way to help save animals? It is
totally free - it won’t cost you anything - ever. It is an Internet Animal Story Club in support of Animal Charities. They send an immediate story to all new members, then a story each month to every member. All the stories have happy endings. Just by joining you will be helping to save lives, ease
suffering, and bring happiness and security into the lives of animals. To join the club visit *www.floydthedog.com*
follow the menu trail, and complete the short form. The site does not bark, bite, scratch, or growl, and is perfectly safe to use. And, won't make a mess in the house!
I'm now foster mom to a 3-legger named Lily.
I'm not ready to completely adopt a new animal, but I was contacted
by a woman who volunteers at a local cat shelter here in Atlanta. She also read the Guideposts article (see our October issue) and saw mention of my 3-legged cat. She reached out and told me about Lily who has been at their shelter for 2 years. Not sure where this one will go, but figured Lily is better off hanging around my house for the time being than at the shelter.
She's missing her back right leg (probably to amputation, but gets around just fine.) She's also polydactyl. So, I figure what she's lacking in leg, she makes up for in toes!
In case you missed this last month:
China sadistically tortures and slaughters over 2,000,000 cats and dogs every year. They are skinned alive and left to die slowly in shock and excruciating pain.
Please help fight this mindless, vicious cruelty! Go to http://animalsaviors.org/ and sign the petition. The organizers think it will help, as China's dictators are beginning to care about world opinion. Maybe they'll even stop exporting poisonous products...
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men (and women) do nothing.
Edmund Burke
Incidentally, people who buy real fur products - no matter what they're labeled - may unknowingly be part of the problem...
A favor, please: I'd like to have Catnip Chronicles be the #1 rated pet magazine at Ezine Finder - might boost our circulation so we can serve more cats 'n' keepers. If you have time, please vote for us at the link below. You can vote once a day. Thanks!

Whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving, as our Canadian friends did last month and we in the USA do this month, there's never a bad time to stop and count your blessings. Most of us have more than we realize - usually too many to even count.
Among a myriad of other things, we're thankful for you (no readers, no felizine) and for our special friends who share their writing and photography every month. Bless you all!
