The cat does not offer services. The cat offers itself.
Of course he wants care and shelter. You don’t buy love for nothing.
Like all pure creatures, cats are practical.

Rainbow Bridge

Angus walked out of the woods around our house in May 1999. He was a very pretty little neutered black cat estimated to be about one year old. Obviously he had been someone's pet - lost or abandoned we did not know.We attempted to post notices so the owner could find the cat, but we had no responses and had fallen in love with the little black cat that we called Angus. We brought him into the house as a permanent member where he quickly settled in with the dogs and house remodeling. We called him our dog cat because he always came to his name and was at the door when we would arrive home.

He was a faithful friend and only ten years old, which in cat terms isn't so much, when last week he started hiding...under the stairs, in the back of a closet or in the laundry room. I knew something was the matter but he looked terrific with thick shiny black hair and clear eyes. However, I made a vet appointment, but just two hours after that I found Angus on a bathmat in our back bathroom-- he was making little meeping noises, I sat with him and petted him and then he shuddered and died. We were totally unprepared for this and are grieving. The vet says it might have been a heart attack, another vet guessed a blood clot. We do not know why he left, but we do know he was a marvelous cat and we miss him very much.
