A BRAND NEW TOY MY LEMON TREE MORE FELOGA Remember last month when I introduced you to Feloga (Feline Yoga)? I have a few new positions this month: Feloga position #5: This one is very relaxing. You lie down in a comfortable position on your back or side, cross your paws, and meditate. I sometimes purr and then fall asleep. It is very restful. SERIOUS THINGS HAPPEN IN MY WORLD You know that my brother Davey Jones is sick. (April 2009, “Davey Jones’ Diary) Well, I got sick, too. Mama found me on the counter, glassy eyed and drooling. She panicked! She was looking all over the place to see if I could have gotten into something that poisoned me. I was drooling really badly by then. Mama gave me a dose of medicine and cleaned me up. She got out the carrier to take me to the Emergency Vet, when I started shaking my head and tilting to the side. Mama did a quick ear cleaning to see if I had anything in my ears. My ears were clean – Thank you very much. Shortly after that I started feeling better and stopped drooling. My name is Belle and I’m two years old.

Mama loves me very much and wants me to be happy, so she got me a brand new toy. The toy is really long and made of something called light weight cardboard. I can grab it and rabbit kick it. I roll around with it and bite it. It is the most wonderfulest toy in the world and Mama got it just for me. Isn’t that great? It’s called a paper towel roll.
Davey Jones thinks that the Lemon Tree is his, but it’s really mine. It wasn’t getting enough light where it had been living all the winter, so now that it’s spring, Aunty Susan moved it in right next to me. It’s really tall now, but I remember it when it was smaller. I played in its dirt when I was a baby. Now I can pretend that I’m a ferocious big cat living in a jungle. I’m not really. I’m just beautiful Belle. In a few days, it will go outside and live under the big Maple tree in the back yard. I’ll miss it, but it will come back in before the first frost.
Feloga position #4: This is my own variation of the back flip. You have to flip on your back, throw your head back, curl up your back toes, and cross your front paws. One should gaze at the ceiling contemplating the Universe or at least your next meal. (Holding on to something to keep you steady is sometimes necessary.)
Feloga Position #6: This is a stretching exercise. I think of myself as a lion and stretch out with my head and front end down. Keep the ears up and stare straight ahead. The tail twist takes a little practice, but it gives the position a finished look.
I didn’t have to go rushing to the Emergency Vet. I curled up and went to sleep. Mama didn’t let me rest. She kept waking me to see if I was OK. A few days later, the Vet said that I probably ate a bug that didn’t agree with me, or perhaps was stung by a millipede or something. Please! I would not willingly eat a bug and if I had been stung, it was when I was asleep. Mama now has medicine for me if it happens again. I don’t want it to happen again. A Princess doesn’t like for people to see her drooling or to have her fur dripping wet.![]()
