Remember Sam, the little koala who was so badly burned in the wildfire outside Victoria? Rescue volunteer David Tree, seen giving her water, took Sam to a nearby animal shelter. With lots of TLC, Sam was making a nice recovery when another koala victim, who they named Bob, arrived. It was reportedly love at first sight, and Sam and Bob are now an Item! Ahh, love conquers all...
The newspapers have always claimed that bad news sells, which is why that's about 99.7% of what they print. With so much bad news in the world, it kind of makes you wonder why so many papers are going belly-up, doesn't it?
Many of us, at the risk of being obvious, are going through some hard times financially and otherwise. Keep telling yourself: Tough times never last, but tough people do! Unfortunately, cats and dogs in shelters or feral colonies probably don't think about that.
A great many shelters and feral colony caregivers are having real problems feeding their furry charges. Donations are way down. Maybe you can help some. You don't have to write a big check, although that would sure be great. How about just adding another bag of dry food, or a few cans, to your weekly shopping list. Maybe an extra bag of litter for a shelter. Drop it off anonymously, if you like. If everyone helped just a little, it would make a huge difference!
