BEAUTIFUL BELLE

Three kittens came to us from a horse barn in West Virginia. Belle was a standout from the beginning. Little Bear and Barnaby, her two littermates, were fluffy black blobs with eyes. They ate and slept, but did little else. Belle, on the other hand, was adventurous from the first day. It took about four days to wean the kittens, and then I was going to find them homes.

Within a few days, Belle was exploring. The other two kittens were a lot slower. They watched Belle with great interest, but didn’t try to do anything on their own. Belle was the leader. She was the largest kitten, very active, and the most vocal. She was definitely a keeper.

The first year, even though Barnaby and Little Bear outgrew her in size, Belle continued to be the leader of the litter. She was curious, playful, cuddly, and adorable. I didn’t search for a forever home very long, and I’ve never regretted the decision to keep the three kittens.

At two years of age, Belle still has me wrapped around her paw. You can keep up with her and her adventures by reading “Belle’s Blog”,  here at Catnip Chronicles.
