This feature was originally inspired by Diana Hanshaw's fine photography, which we've always considered art. In response to reader requests, we've happily expanded it to include hand-drawn/painted work, too.

As much as we respect the medium, no work created on a computer is eligible.

Submissions invited: Deadline is the 20th of the preceding month. We try to keep file sizes under 25kb so our readers on dial-up don't get shut out. We don't always succeed - especially here - but we try...

Lucy, a dilute torti, is a newcomer to the rescue shelter where diana volunteers. Found abandoned and ill on the streets of Baltimore, her rescuer nursed her back to health and would've loved to keep her. But, as sweet as Miss Lucy is with people, she is NOT a cat lover and didn't get along with her rescuer's resident cats. Miss Lucy doesn't need to worry though - we'll simply find her a single cat household where she can live out her life!

Attempt more

If you wish to achieve more, then attempt more. Push yourself beyond what you already know you can do.

Get out of the rut of going through the same motions and ending up with the same results. Put some additional time, energy, thought and creativity into your actions.

Take on challenges that make you a little bit uncomfortable. Stretch your abilities and watch them grow.

Decide to reach higher and you'll find many new ways to move higher. Raise your expectations and you'll improve your performance.

Keep on learning, keep on growing, and keep on venturing beyond what you already know. Give yourself the gift of increasingly ambitious goals.

Enjoy and appreciate how far you've already come. Then jump back in and make it even better.
