Doubtless run by Congress, which has no standards.
Cat of The Day - On January 23, our very own Princess Fluffybutt was Cat of The Day! Please see http://catoftheday.com/archive/2010/January/23.html How cool is that? We were, and are, delighted! Her Catness, of course, expected it...
In the Miami area last year, an 18-year-old monster killed and mutilated 18 cats, throwing their bodies into the owners' yards. Former FBI profiler Candice DeLong offered this opinion in a CNN interview on the subject:
"This behavior is a very serious indicator of a troubled person... possibly they're a sadistic killer in training and they're acting out a fantasy, working up to and practicing what they want to do humans. Cats actually are the most frequently abused/mutilated animals by potential serial killers. Why? Well, one killer told me, "I hate them... they are just like women! They sneak around, they are quiet and conniving, they act like they don't need you, and they need to be dead!" If I was looking for a suspect, I'd be looking for a male. This is a crime about power; control, rage, and possibly sadism (sexual control)."
IMHO, killing and eating dogs in Korea is no more civilized than killing and eating cats in China. Maybe you'll join us in signing the petition to the South Korean government:

PETA investigation: IAMS - A recipe for cruelty
I think PETA often goes too far, but not always. Like this: A nine-month investigation into the pet food giant IAMS reveals dogs and cats fed a steady diet of loneliness, suffering, and neglect in their laboratory cages.
Maybe you'll re-think buying IAMS products - which, I've read, are not paricularly good pet food products, anyway. I don't know from experience; we've never used them.
Have you heard about the Ecosia Search Engine? Free to use, of course, they make a contribution every time a search is made, to help save our vital rain forests. Learn more: http://tinyurl.com/yht6zp6 Yes, I use it and it's just fine. For images and some other things, I still use Google, but Ecosia is now my home page.
Here's a note from a subscriber: To all of your subscribers and especially the rescue worker who lives with 10 cats. Use Vinegar to wash the walls and spritz the ceiling and air vents/ducts. Vinegar will not harm the cats and it will neutralize the urine smell.

Thanks, Susan!
We hope that being on Facebook will help us get many more readers/subscribers. The more cat lovers and cats we can serve, the better! Just out of curiosity, I took a look at our "hit tracker" which tells me the number of hits we've had and where they came from. No, there is no information that would allow us to identify people, even if we wanted to - which we don't.
So, in the period of January 1-15, 2010, we had readers in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Hungary, India, Israel,
New Zealand, Phillipines, Poland, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States. I thought that was pretty cool. Never know what you'll find here, do you?
Warmest thanks to our writers and photographers who generously share their skills with us (and you). Have a wonderful and satisfying month filled with love, laughter, and cats!
