I work in the quarantine area of a no-kill shelter. A while back, we had a mama cat with five kittens come in. They were all covered in ringworm. We usually put ringworm cats on ketoconozole but the vet said the kittens were too little and the mama was too puny so instead she prescribed weekly Lym dips. Over the weeks they have grown, gotten stronger and greatly improved, and Monday when the vet gets back I'm going to ask her if we still need to do the dips.

But, last Monday I dipped them and since our weather was cold I put all five kittens in a small crate together to dry. I also set one of our little electric heaters near them to keep them warm. I went out of the room for a few minutes. When I came back, it was very quiet except for this "humming" sound. At first I thought it was coming from the heater, but I looked around and traced the sound back to that crate of kittens.

All five of those little dipped kittens were snuggled up, purring together and the sound was like a loud hum! I never realized how the combined purrs of five kittens could sound so much different and be so much louder than the purr of just one!

Anyway it was just so very cute, I just had to share. Happy New Year!

A week later: The good news is that they no longer have to be dipped but can now take oral meds for their ringworm which is put into canned food and is so much easier on them and me!

They're just so cute - I hope they all get furever homes...
