This feature was originally inspired by Diana Hanshaw's fine photography, which we've always considered art. In response to reader requests, we've happily expanded it to include hand-drawn/painted work, too.

As much as we respect the medium, no work created on a computer is eligible.

Submissions invited: Deadline is the 20th of the preceding month. We try to keep file sizes under 25kb so our readers on dial-up don't get shut out. We don't always succeed - especially here - but we try...

In my humble opinion, Mother Nature herself created one of the greatest works of living art when She created the tortoiseshell coloring in cats (similar to "brindle" in dogs). Backlit by brilliant sunshine while luxuriating on a frothy piece of white lace, 'Annie' is a most beautiful example of torti art. As loving in spirit as she is lovely in form, Annie is living with a foster family while awaiting her Forever Home.
