June 30, 2002 - August 29, 2009 Patches was always busy. If he wasn’t in his favorite box, he was on the table, tearing up my catalogs or my calendar or my letters. Or he was in his favorite bag, making a ruckus. Then his liver failed. For 2 weeks, I nursed him. The vet said he had a 50/50 chance. But on Saturday night, August 29, he gave up and crossed the Bridge. I threw out his favorite box. I cried. Sometimes still, I cry. But I know that he is at the Bridge, feeling fine and frisky, chasing butterflies and waiting for me.
